Caring for Braces During a Quarantine: Tips and Tricks
Here are some tips for caring for braces during a quarantine. Caring for your braces is always essential, but now it’s more important than ever.
We’re all looking forward to getting back to our regular routine, but there are some easy ways to help keep your treatment on track until that’s possible.
Do You Have An Emergency?
First, we’re here for you for dental emergencies. If you experience pain, have protruding wires, or broken brackets, you may always reach us via text at (917) 601-8623, email, or Virtual Consultation/Appointment. We also have a live chat on our website if you click on the blue button on the bottom right of the screen.
Fortunately, orthodontic emergencies are rare; however, if you experience pain or have any concerns, please contact us immediately. Temporarily, you may be able to alleviate discomfort with dental wax until we can see you in person. If any pieces break off your appliance, please keep them in an envelope and bring them with you at your next appointment.

If you are running low on elastics, please let us know as it’s important to continue wearing them as much as possible.
Also, please take extra careful care cleaning and protecting your retainers and aligners like Invisalign. For questions, please contact us. We may have to adjust the length of time you wear the aligners.
During this time, it’s also important to regularly wash your hands for 20 seconds with soap and water. It’s an easy way to help stop the spread of germs and viruses like COVID-19.
We hope this answers your questions on caring for braces during a quarantine. By following these tips, you can avoid problems and keep your treatment on track. We’re looking forward to seeing you again as soon as possible!
